Tone Signalling (Signaling) / Telecom / Datacom ICs for Distribution to UK, European & Worldwide Telecommunications and Electronics Market
Tone Signalling Products
Products include DTMF Transceivers and Receivers, MF Trunk Signalling ICs and Call Progress Detectors and Generators. DTMF Transceivers are used in tone dialling applications where a direct inexpensive method of either receiving or receiving and sending DTMF digits is required. MF signalling IC's, available in a variety of formats, eliminate the need for additional software required to implement MF signalling protocols in trunk circuits. The M-993 is a stand alone generator and provides a simple inexpensive method of generating analogue R1 MF signalling tones. The Call Progress Detectors are used to detect common call progress tones such as busy-tone, dial tone, call waiting tones and others. These devices are easy to use, inexpensive and can be used wherever there is a need to monitor the progress of a call over the network or provide tones necessary for interfacing simple telephone circuits.
MF Trunk Signalling IC's
Used in MF trunk signalling applications, these products include a family of PCM digital MF transceivers in a variety of formats. Signalling formats include R1 (a law and u law), R2 and R2 China Specification. Also included is an MF R1 tone generator. Already used in thousands of systems worldwide, these products allow the system designer a proven method of providing MF signalling capability.
Features:
- Direct PCM interface to chip
- Manual or Compelled Mode operation for R2 signalling
- 2.048 MHz clocking
- Dual channel
- Microprocessor read/write interface
- R1, R2 and R2 China formats provided
Applications : Trunk Circuits requiring MF trunk signalling in R1 or R2 signalling formats.
DTMF Transceivers and Receivers
The Clare family of DTMF Transceivers and Receivers feature an industry standard pin-out and are available in both plastic DIP and SOIC packages. These devices use an inexpensive colour burst crystal. Adjustable guard times provide flexibility for fast operation or additional accuracy in receiving DTMF dialling tones.
Features:
- 3 and 5 volt receivers
- Adjustable receiver guard time on both receivers and transceivers
- Power-down and inhibit modes on M-8870-02 receiver
- Transceivers feature call progress detection modes
- Central office quality and performance
Applications:
- PBX and Central Office tone receivers
- Security systems
- Credit card verification
- Fax machines
- Pay telephones
- Remote control
- Remote data entry
Call Progress Detectors and Generators
Clare's family of Call Progress Detectors and Generators provide an inexpensive method of detecting and generating common call progress tones including busy tone, dial tone, call waiting tones and others. The family includes both an inexpensive band detector and precise call tone detectors that detect individual tones. Detectors are available in both DIP and SOIC packages and operate on either 3 volt or 5 volt supply packages. The call progress generator allows for a simple method of providing dial tone, busy tone and other call progress tones in applications where a POTS interface is required such as VOIP or other network gateways.
Features:
- Receive and generate common call progress tones
- Detectors operate with a single 3 to 5 volt supply
- Linear input (detectors) and output (generator)
- Inexpensive band detector with wide dynamic range (>38db)
- Low power consumption
- Detectors available for both common call progress and SIT tones
- Available in both DIP and SOIC packages
Applications:
- PBX circuits
- Billing systems
- Test equipment
- Point of Sale terminals
- Pay telephones
